Platformatic is a seed-stage developer platform dedicated to streamlining Node.js microservices.
With $3.5M in seed funding led by Rialto Ventures, it aims to help Node.js Enterprise teams in media, fintech, and ecommerce deploy, manage, and scale Node.js applications.
Their observability and traceability platform — built on top of their open-source package with more than 3M monthly downloads — offers enteprises with a built-in command center, risk engine, metrics monitoring, and seamless DevOps integrations, allowing developers to focus on coding rather than juggling fragmented toolchains.
By providing an end-to-end platform that cuts setup complexity, Platformatic competes at the intersection of the likes of AWS Serverless, Heroku, and other microservices frameworks that demand high operational overhead. Its core differentiators include a plug-and-play approach to monitoring and traceability and baked-in performance monitoring, boosting developer productivity.
When their founder & CEO Luca approached me, they needed a product marketer to rethink core personas and related messaging, while architecting a cohesive go-to-market strategy.
This revamp was crucial for positioning Platformatic as the go-to solution for modern dev teams seeking a faster, simpler way to build scalable Node.js microservices.
Scope
During my collaboration with Platformatic, I delivered a comprehensive scope of marketing services designed to build out their messaging, positioning, and go-to-market strategy to drive initial and dealflow.
Month 1: Personas and Product Marketing Messaging
Developed in-depth customer profiles, including demographics, psychographics, roles, and firmographics, to refine targeting and outreach efforts.
Conducted a robust competitor analysis to assess their value propositions, marketing strategies, product offerings, and pricing models.
Crafted compelling product marketing messaging by identifying pain points, articulating the value proposition, outlining benefits, and establishing clear differentiation from competitors.
Created a strong positioning framework, including narrative development, positioning anchors, and a manifesto to align brand identity with market demands.
Month 2-3: Website Revamp & Go-to-Market strategy
Revamped the website's structure and content with Figjam wireframes and ready-to-go marketing copy.
Delivered compelling wireframe and copy updates across homepage and pricing page.
Created focused product pages for critical components of Platformatic's proposition: Command Center and Watt.
Collaborated with the in-house designer to bring all the website work to completion in less than 45 days from concept.
Developed a yearly calendar of seasonal campaigns to align key moments in the ICP's industries with Platformatic products, creating compelling content around industry moments to cement relevance and engagement
Collaborated with outbound team to craft compelling micro-campaigns to targeted lists across email and LinkedIn to generate pipeline and meetings
Month 4-6: LinkedIn Founder-led Content
Revamped the founder's LinkedIn profile, optimizing it for conversions and visibility among target audiences.
Developed a comprehensive content strategy that defined key pillars, content formats, distribution channels, posting cadence, and keyword focus.
Created an actionable content calendar aligned with the strategy and drafted engaging LinkedIn posts to amplify brand presence and social following.
Collaborated with designers to produce visually compelling LinkedIn carousels and cheatsheets, boosting engagement and reach.
